PRIVACY POLICY:

We respect and are committed to protecting your privacy. Our reservation software company, Stripe, may collect personally identifiable information when you visit/reserve from our site.  It will NEVER be dissimenated to others.



SECURITY POLICY:

Your payment and personal information is always safe through Stripe, our online credit card processor. The credit card processing company has/utilizes Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the internet.



CANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY:

A 10% processing fee will be charged for ANY cancellation.  Cancellation of reservation 60 days or more prior to check-in date will receive a refund less the processing fee.  Cancellation of reservation less than 60 days prior to check-in will receive a refund, less processing fee, if accommodations can be re-booked and occupied during reservation time period at the rate contracted for.  If unit is not re-booked during reservation time period within 30 days, there will be no refund given.  Note: Any and all refunds described above will be reduced by the original credit card processing fees since the credit card processor (Stripe) no longer refunds those fees to us.  No refunds / adjustments after check-in.


The Tenants agree that during the rental period, the Owners shall not be held liable and shall be held harmless for any injury, loss of possessions, or any deficiency in the condo's serviceability (including occupancy) as a result of 1) acts of God (which include but are not limited to earthquake, fire, flood or any other natural disaster), 2) any theft that might occur, or 3) any other accident or event not directly caused by the Owners. If there is a major storm, hurricane, or tsunami, no accommodation refunds will be given unless: The day that the authorities issue a mandatory evacuation order in a "Tropical Storm/Hurricane/Tsunami Warning," for the Islander resort area, we will refund: Any unused portion of rent from a guest currently registered due to damage from the storm or any rent from a guest that is scheduled to arrive where the accommodation cannot be occupied due to damage.



NO SMOKING:

IMPORTANT NOTICE NO SMOKING IN COMMON ELEMENTS 


At the 5/19/16 Board meeting, the Board approved a “no smoking” policy in the common elements, including limited common areas. Effective 9/12/16, all of the designated smoking areas throughout the property will be eliminated. As you know, the State and the City and County ordinance already prohibits smoking in enclosed areas of the common elements. The smoking ban will benefit the Islander in a number of respects. 


1. Many communities are instituting smoking bans and hotels are required by law to do so. This is becoming a growing trend. 

2. It will limit expenses for the Association and its members by reducing the need to clean up ash trays, cigarette butts, etc. 

3. It will reduce the risk of fires. Although the risk of a fire is relatively low at our property, a reduction in the risk is significant, particularly when you consider the cost and impact of a fire. 

4. Many people are concerned about the risks of second-hand smoke. Eliminating smoking not only makes economic sense, it addresses the legitimate health concerns of many people. 


Our goal is to keep our environment healthier and safer. We want the Islander on the Beach experience to be as healthy and congenial as possible for our owners and guests.  We thank you in advance for your adherence to this new policy.
