Aloha and welcome to our piece of Hawaiian paradise!  We have 19 studio condos for rent (unit #115, #131, #151, #152, #160, #163, #239, #245, #252, #254, #319, #320, #321, #323, #324, #328, #329, #345, and #351 at the Islander on the Beach complex [440 Aleka Place, Kapa'a, HI 96746] - REFER TO SIDEBAR ON LEFT FOR INFO ON EACH UNIT INCLUDING AVAILABILITY) located in the beach front complex, Islander on the Beach located in Kapa'a, Kauai (you can also scroll down on this page and click on property map to get a better understanding where they are located in relation to the lobby and ocean!

**NOTE:  We also just added a couple of 2 and 3-bedroom condos on the top floor, with beautiful ocean views at the Kauai Kailani complex in Kapa'a town proper, which you can see and read about on the left hand side under #351.**

They are located on six lushly landscaped oceanfront acres.  Each condo features a balcony/lanai where you can enjoy beautiful sunrises and complete or partial ocean views and are only a few strides away from a private beach.
 
Each unit was renovated in 2005 by being stripped to the concrete block walls and completely redone with travertine flooring throughout, granite counter tops and all new appliances.  The mattresses are the most comfortable we've ever slept on and have had many renters tell us how comfy they were!  Other amenities differ in each unit so please click on the links to the left to see what each unit has to offer.
 
Soak up the sun in the ocean-side pool, or relax in the Jacuzzi while sipping a Mai Tai from the poolside Tiki Hut bar.  There are also Weber BBQ grills by the pool free to use as well as an Activities Desk in the lobby to plan excursions and such.
 
Centrally located in the town of Kapa'a, you are 30 miles from both the north and south shores.  The enchanting Wailua River and Fern Grotto are less than two miles from the complex where you can boat, hike, and/or kayak.  You are also less than 200 yards from the Coconut Marketplace, which has over 30 specialty shops and restaurants.  

Just received word, starting Feb. 23, 2015, laundry room will be closed to owners and guests that are not staying through the complex, Aston.  There is a 24-hour laundry facility a mile up the road in Kapa'a town aptly named, Kapa'a Laundromat!  Other laundromat options can be seen on left tab entitled 'Laundromats'.

A trip around the Garden Isle!


 


Here is another video made by a guest that stayed in Unit 319.  Many of the shots were taken right outside the unit at the beach and around the immediate area of the complex.  Hard to find a more beautiful place than the Garden Isle!  Appreciate the shots, JW!!





COMPLEX GOINGS-ON / PROJECTS / FYI
As of Feb. 23, 2015, laundry room will be closed to owners and guests that do not stay through the complex.  There is a 24-hour laundry facility up the road north in town, Kapa'a Laundromat and other local options as you can read on left hand tab under 'Laundromats'.


Bike Path
 The Board continues to work with the County of Kauai on the bike path planning from the proposed easement between the Islander on the Beach and Kauai Shores to potential privacy fences and landscaping. The work is in the planning and design stages, with project start dates ranging from late 2016 to early 2017.


Parking lot renovation:
Update to parking lot renovation (as of 10/12/16): The parking renovation project is in the final review phase by the County of Kauai. Once the permit is issued, a communication about the project phasing and timelines will be shared with Owners. Construction is expected to commence immediately upon approval by the County and is expected to take 2 to 3 months for completion. 


Lobby Fumigation:
Lobby fumigation info (7/1/16):  The Lobby building is scheduled for termite treatment (fumigation), the week of December 5, 2016, weather permitting. The tenting process will start at approximately 7:30 am on December 6. The tenting will be removed at approximately 7:30 am on December 7 and the building will be secured. H


1/7/16:
Not affecting our property, but the Coconut Marketplace behind us separated by both our complex and their back parking lots is currently being renovated and is a shell of its former self.  The new construction/renovation is looking good, but most of the shops have closed down and only a few remain as of today.  They will be bringing in new stores, restaurants, etc. as the renovations finish section by section.  There is no noise issues, but thought it was worth mentioning, especially for those of you who have stayed with us before and enjoyed some of the old places that were in there.

Update (10/12/16):  The Coconut Marketplace renovation project continues, with the openings of an ABC Store and Bobby V’s Italian Restaurant Pizzeria. The North side of the complex is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2016.


Local Area Updates:
Within the Islander Shops, Imua Coffee Roasters has opened. Trees Lounge, also located in the Islander Shops, is under new ownership. 

Selective demolition of the Coco Palms resort began in June and is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.

THERE IS ALSO A CHANCE MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL MAY BE SCHEDULED TO DO ROUTINE LANAI / AC CLEANING DURING YOUR STAY AND PEST CONTROL CAN ALSO BE SCHEDULED.  THIS SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE / PEST CONTROL HAPPENS QUARTERLY AND YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED BEFORE THEY COME TO ENSURE YOU ARE AWARE.  WE ASK FOR YOUR COOPERATION AND UNDERSTANDING DURING THESE VISITS AS IN ORDER TO UPKEEP UNITS AND PROPERTY, AS A WHOLE, THEY ARE A MUST AND VERY MUCH NEEDED, BEING SO CLOSE TO THE OCEAN IN A TROPICAL SETTING!  MAHALO NUI!!
